The Promise
Privacy Promise
It can be very scary to start speaking up, especially in the youth sports world. Trust is the foundation of this platform. Here's exactly how stories and data are protected.
Anonymity First
Every story and question published on Stories from the Deck is shared anonymously. No names, no identifying details. When submitting, there is an option to include a display name — but it's entirely optional. If left blank, the story is published as "Anonymous."
Before anything goes live, each submission is personally reviewed. Identifying information — names, schools, clubs, team names, or specific details that could point to a person — may be edited or removed while preserving the heart of the story.
What Gets Collected
When a story or question is submitted, only what is provided gets collected: the content of the submission and any optional details included (such as sport type, coach gender, or sport level). If a question includes an email for a response, that email is used solely to notify the submitter when a response has been published.
How Data Is Used
Submissions are used only to publish stories and questions on this site. Information is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing. An email, if provided, is used exclusively for the purpose it was given.
You're in Control
If at any time a story or question needs to be removed from the site, the fastest way is to submit a question requesting a takedown. Please include the title of the submission so it can be located quickly. Every voice here belongs to the person who shared it — this platform exists to hold those voices, never to keep them hostage.
Plain Language
Privacy policies should be readable by humans, not just lawyers. If anything on this page is unclear, please don't hesitate to ask.
