Young Swim Coach

For reference, I work at a facility where I am a swim coach, lifeguard, and teach swim lessons. I am quite young and female. I started coaching for the short course season last year and the head coach was great and I really enjoyed my time so I decided to coach summer swim. A new head coach took over, who had three kids on the team one of which was on the coaching staff. He and another coach who had never coached summer before were paid significantly more than me and another girl because we were “new”. Since we were paid on stipend we got paid whether we showed up or not, most of us only missed around 4 days whereas the two coaches, connected to the head coach, missed about 4 weeks of practice each out of the 8 weeks of the season. Although I brought up my concerns with the summer swim head coach, who is also friends with the main head coach, nothing was done. Also, throughout the season the other coaches would not do things they were supposed to, or coach poorly, at one point our 11-12 group didn’t know what drills were, although we were half way through the season.
Long story short, the head coach has asked me to coach again over the winter but I am debating because I will make basically gas money and coaching will prevent me from being able to lifeguard or do anything else most days a week. Although I love the kids, and many of them are joining the team because of me, I just can’t justify being treated poorly constantly by my fellow coaches who are older than me and be expected to make almost no money for my work.
