Modesty

Oh man. Today I got yelled and belittled by a parent of a 16-year-old boy because apparently it is “inappropriate” and “not modest” to tell a swimmer to pull up their swimsuit that was falling down again and again. I mentioned to the boy after practice he needed to either tie his shorts tighter or get some with a real tie or even a jammer if possible. Apparently, this was incredibly inappropriate 🙄 It causes the boy to not push into streamline ever, never dive properly and forces him to stop mid lap to pull them up. Which causes obvious issues for the whole lane! Proceeded to call me a liar. I then explained that I was the last coach (3 of us on deck) to say something. The other 2 male coaches had already said something multiple times during practice. Then proceeds to tell me her kids hate swim because of me...but I don’t coach her kids. The head male coach does. I never speak to her boys. SMH. Oh, by the way, also did this in front of several other parents AND kids!
